Thought to be Joseph Robinson born 1879 in Greetham, Rutland son of John Robinson and Mary Ann Draycott of Rutlandshire. Joseph’s father died in 1871 and his mother Mary a dressmaker later married widower, Joseph Morley in 1894 and moved to New Westwood, Notts. Joseph had siblings Fanny, John, Sarah, Kate and Amy. In 1901 Joseph, aged 22, a coal miner was living with his mother, his sister Amy and step father Joseph Morley at Westwood.

By 1911 Joseph had married and he and his wife Emma who had originated from Glaston, Rutland had set up home at New Westwood, Joseph’s sister Amy a shop assistant draper was living with them. Joseph and Emma had a daughter named Gwendoline Annie baptised at St. Mary’s, Westwood in 1907.

Joseph’s military record does not seem to have survived and he is not listed on the Absent Voters Roll.
