We have not been able to establish who this serviceman was. He could possibly be Henry Samuel Foster, born 1874, a blacksmith and general labourer, resident in 1911 at Albert Avenue, Jacksdale. Or it could possibly be his son, John Henry Foster b. 1897. There is also a J. Foster listed on the Jacksdale War Memorial who was killed WW1
