Frederick was born in 1883 in Nottingham, Sneinton and his parents were Joseph Ferrill, born in France, a British Subject, and Jane Ragsdale. Frederick had brothers and sisters Nellie, Willie and Annie.
In 1911 Frederick was living at Back Lane, Westwood with his wife Gertrude (nee Evans). They had been married for one year and his occupation was given as postman civil service. Frederick was aged 28 and Gertrude 30. There were no children of the marriage.
Frederick’s service information has been taken from the Absent Voters Roll and he is listed as absent from Barrows Hill Lane, Westwood.
After the war, Frederick went to live at 6, The Crescent, Selston.
Frederick died on 12th April 1966 at the City Hospital, Nottingham, aged 84. His wife died in the same year. His will in 1966 gives the beneficiary as Lilla May Evans, spinster.
