ACKERS, F.

Private F. Ackers
Regiment Unknown

We believe this serviceman may be Alfred Henry Akers born about about 1897 in Leicester, son of Alfred and Mary Ann Akers. In 1911 Alfred, who was then aged 14, was living at home with his parents at Wood Street, Chesterfield and his occupation was given as colliery labourer under ground. There is one sister also listed, Doris Eveline. Also there is a lodger in the home, one Samuel Booth of Somercotes, Derbyshire which may have some connection with Alfred later moving to the Jacksdale area.

Alfred Akers married Hilda Godber in 1924 in Nottingham and they had children Kenneth R, Malvern A and Beryl V

We would be very pleased to hear from any descendants who could confirm that Fred had a connection with Jacksdale and Westwood.
