Son of Charlotte Mary and the late Amos Canlin of Langley Mill, Derbyshire.

Commemorated/Buried : Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery VII B 18.

Brother of Private Richard Canlin who also gave his life.

In 1901 the Canlin family were living at 92, Cromford Road, Langley Mill.  Frank's mother was widowed at that time with seven children still at home.  Eldest brother John appeared to be the only wage earner, employed as a coal miner horse driver below ground.
