Arthur Hanson appears on the 'Absent Voters List 1918/19' and is shown as living at Palmerston Street, Westwood.
Arthur was one of FIVE brothers who appear on the War Memorial as having served and all returned home safe.
The Brothers were George Edward, Samuel, John Henry, and Archibald Hanson.
After the war, Arthur was the school caretaker at Westwood infants for many years.

The 1901 census shows the family living at Old Westwood (Palmerston Street). Albert aged 43 b. Huddersfield, pit banksman - Mary aged 40 b. Nottingham - Arthur aged 17, coal miner - Archibald aged 15, coal miner - John Henry aged 13, coal miner - Sidney aged 11 - George Ernest aged 8 -  Samuel aged 3 - Oswald aged 2 weeks.
