Charles Green was the son of Charlie Green and was the uncle of James Ernest Green, killed in action. There were two 'Green' families in the village at that time and are not to be confused. Charles Green was the brother of John Green. John was married to Amelia Green.

Charles had a sister called Minnie who married George Manders and their son, Thomas Leslie Manders, Charles' nephew, was killed in action WW2.

Charles lived at New Westwood and was married to Martha Emma.

Charles died 12th January 1956, aged 85.
Emma died 17th December 1949, aged 77.

They are both buried at Westwood St. Mary's Church.
