"The Rev. Herbert Newton, formerly associated with St. Christopher’s Church, Nottingham, has been appointed curate in charge of Westwood, St Mary’s Church and took up his duties last Sunday.  The curate, who is a native of Lincolnshire, received his training at St. Aidan's Theological College, Birkenhead.  He is very interested in sport, and has represented his college at tennis, cricket and football."
